- Extreme Hardness: 7 to 9 on the Mohs scale (harder than hardened steel tool files).
- High Internal Tension: Because slabs are pressed under 400 bar of pressure, the perimeter edges hold internal tension. Fabricators must always trim 1 to 1.5 inches off all four factory edges before making internal cutouts to release this residual stress.
